RE: TOWNSHIP OFFER TO COLLECT YOUR TRASH,
RECYCLING AND BULKY WASTE

its April 19th meeting, the Authority
approved the award of a contract to Waste Management of
New Jersey for the collection of household trash,
recycling and bulky waste. As noted in previous
correspondence, the start of the Township’s new service
will begin July 1, 2011.
**This notice will serve also as your first invoice.
Please remit no later than June 15, 2011 your first
quarterly payment of $74.00 for the period July, August
and September 2011. You can mail or drop off your check
to the PMUA at
121 Evergreen Road, New Egypt, NJ 08533.**
Here’s what you
need to do to get started:
you are an existing customer of Waste Management, your
services will automatically rollover to the new Township
collection service on July 1. If you want to confirm
that your service is set up correctly with Waste
Management, please call 1-800-633-9096.
you are an existing customer of another company, please
contact them and cancel your service with them. Prior to
the start of the Township’s service on July 1, 2011, you
can sign up with Waste Management (1-800-633-9096) for
household trash and recycling collection service at the
PMUA contract rate.
As of July 1, 2011, this service would then be
converted to the PMUA program and you will be billed by
Here’s what you need to know:
Collection days for once per week collection of
household trash are shown on the attached map.
Collection days for every other week collection of
recycling are on Wednesday- one half of the Township
will be done on the “even week” Wednesday and the other
one half done on the “odd” week Wednesday. Please see
the attached map to determine your collection day.
Bulky waste pick up is collected once per month. Please
refer to the attached map for your scheduled bulk waste
Collection hours are Monday through Friday between the
hours of 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. Please set your container out
the night before or by 6 a.m. on your scheduled
collection day. If a collection is missed, please call
Waste Management at 1-800-633-9096. Missed service will
be recovered by noon the following day.
Waste Management will be delivering the 95 gallon
containers to you so that all customers will have two
containers; one for household trash and one for
recycling. The recycling container will have a bright
yellow lid. If you have any issue with your existing
household Waste Management container, please contact
Waste Management at 1-800-633-9096. Delivery should be
completed prior to the July 1 start date for service.
Waste Management observes the following legal holidays:
New Year’s Day, Independence Day, Memorial Day, Labor
Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.
During a week in which an observed holiday falls
on a scheduled collection day (Monday- Friday),
collections scheduled on the holiday, and all collection
scheduled for the balance of that week will be delayed
one day. As an example, if the holiday falls on a
Monday, all collection for that week are delayed by one
day; Monday to Tuesday, Tuesday to Wednesday, and so on.
Please note the Holiday
schedule will be in effect the week of July 4, 2011 as
noted on the attached trash and recycling maps.
